Prashant Bhushan -Kashmir Comment

Prashant Bhushan -Kashmir Comment

Lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan was today roughed up and beaten by three youths suspected to belong to a right-wing group, in his Supreme Court chamber for advocating plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
The men claimed they attacked Bhushan for his recent comments on Kashmir. Bhushan had said about two weeks ago in Varanasi that a referendum was possible in J&K.The three men barged into Bhushan’s chamber and were seen on TV slapping and kicking the senior lawyer.
Bhushan’s assistant who came to his help was also roughed up by the attackers before one of them was caught and beaten up by some people. The other two escaped. Bhushan said  it appeared the youth targeted him for his stand on Jammu and Kashmir. “They objected to some comments I made on Kashmir. I have said a plebiscite should be held in Kashmir,” he said.
Inder Verma, 24, a resident of Karai Village in Nangloi, was arrested for the attack while a hunt is on to nab the other two. Verma told police he was the president of Sri Ram Sene’s Delhi unit.
