Send & Receive SMS To Gmail & Google Talk in Android

Send & Receive SMS To Gmail & Google Talk in Android

How would you reply to all your text messages while you are checking mails from your colleagues on your notebook and your phone is being charged in the other room? That is where DeskSMS comes in. The app is fairly simple to set up and use. Just feed in your mail account, select from Gmail and/or Google Talk services to receive all the messages and you’re done! All the incoming text messages would now be pushed to the selected service(s). You can easily reply to your messages through email. Replied messages are sent back as text messages to the same phone number. Therefore, the recipient needn’t be connected to the internet.

DeskSMS forwards your text messages to your GMail and Google Chat. And if you reply back, the recipient gets a text from your number!
You can use your favorite IM client (Beejive, Trillian, etc) or email client to send text messages from your phone number!
What’s in this version:
  1. Added a new toggle widget to toggle gmail and gtalk notifications.
  2. Added missed call notifications.
  3. Cleaned up the setup screen, new UI layout.
  4. Handcent and GoSMS users are now instructed to allow notifications in other applications.
  5. Fixed a bug where users would need to log in again after their session had expired.
  6. Fixed a bug where a long outgoing SMS would not be sent. The SMS is now split into multiple parts and sent.
