Samsung Galaxy Nexus India Launch

Samsung Galaxy Nexus India Launch

We can now confirm that Samsung has rescheduled the launch of Galaxy Nexus in India to January. It was earlier slated for a December launch. India was in the first wave of Nexus launch countries.  For the Nexus smartphone, Google pairs up with one handset vendor and offers the “pure Android” experience, which coincides with the launch of a major Android update. The Nexus smartphones also are the first in line to get subsequent Android updates. The Galaxy Nexus is the only Android smartphone out there at the moment that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has been designed specifically for the new OS.

Earlier this month we had reported that Galaxy Nexus will be launching in India by end of November, but sadly, according to our trusted sources, the launch has been delayed till end of December or early January. But the good news is that we are expecting the launch price to be Rs.32,900 (approx $660) for the 16GB variant!

The Galaxy Nexus will be capable of 1080p HD video playback. It has a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED Flash at the rear which is capable of recording 1080p full HD video. There is also a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front for video calls.

Anyway, if you were concerned about the lack of Flash support - worry no more. Adobe released today the Flash Player 11.1 for Android with added support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
