Enjoy Movies from PC on iOS Device Wirelessly – Air Playit Review
Transferring some videos stored on the PC / Mac to iPad and iPhone can
definitely add more fun to our journey and help us to kill the time.
However, it is always a time-consuming task to sync the video files via
iTunes. Besides, when the video is not in iDevice-friendly format, people
are even required to use video converting software to convert the video
file to H.264 or MPEG-4 before they can sync.
Syncing the audio and video files always consumes plenty of time and
effort. Moreover, if the video is not compatible with your device, you
have to convert it to H.264 or MP4 using video converting software.
Now an alternative way of transferring media content is going to resolve
this-streaming video/ music to the device wirelessly with Air Playit.
Air Playit consists of two parts: Air Playit server and client application.
The server runs on computer to add video/music folders for streaming, set
permission to the shared folders etc; and the client application should be
installed on iPad or iPhone to be connected with the server and get the
media streaming from the server. They work jointly to stream the media to
the iOS device wirelessly via WiFi, 3G/4G network.
The way it works is that you select which media library folders you
want to “share” and have accessible via the server application running on
your PC or MAC. This is done by simply going into the application,
clicking on Shared Folders and sharing folders that have media you want to
stream to your iOS device or download to your device offline (more on this
later).
Streaming DRM video to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch wirelessly was allowed.
Multi-tasking Music Background Playback was supported.
Music file could be downloaded directly without the need of playing.
Hardware encoding with CUDA on the server was enabled.
Compatibility with Google Android was realized.
