Review: Apple's new iPad
Apple's new iPad ($499-829, 4.5 stars) has the highest-resolution screen
we've ever seen on a tablet. And while all the existing iPad apps run just
fine, apps with graphics designed for the new Retina display look
especially spectacular.
Another year has passed; a hundred trillion zillion Android devices have
come and gone, and the iPad remains comfortably at the top of an ever-
growing hill by virtue of the most refined mobile operating system on the
planet and an industrial design that even looks decent when it's poorly
copied.
With a host of improvements--faster graphics, 4G wireless options, a better
camera, and a gorgeous high-res screen--the latest iPad cements its position
at the head of the tablet pack.
If you don't already own a tablet computer, and want one, then the new iPad
will be tough to resist - if you can afford it. The device, which goes on
sale March 16 in the US, Canada and 10 other countries, will sell for $499
to $829. If you want to save some money, consider the iPad 2, which Apple
will continue making and sell for as low as $399.
