Maruti Suzuki launches Ertiga
The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India today launched its
compact multi purpose vehicle (MPV) Ertiga at introductory price of up
to Rs 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) as the company looks to tap the fast
growing utility vehicles segment.
Ertiga will come in both petrol & diesel versions. With this car, the
company has introduced its K-14 VVT 1.4 litre petrol engine in India.
Maruti has termed it to be a Life Utility Vehicle (LUV).
The company said the MUV segment had emerged as the fastest growing sub-
segment among utility vehicles (UV) and Ertiga will help consolidate its
position in the market.
The company said the petrol variant delivers a fuel economy of 16.02 kmpl
and the diesel one gives 20.77 kmpl.
